The model village was originally constructed in the early 1950’s by Jim Beddoes. Built to a scale of 1/24, a replica of Polperro village boasts; a scenic harbour, a beach, a church, dozens of shops and many houses. As an ever-increasing popular attraction, the model village was established over 70 years ago and is located in the heart of Polperro where there are plenty of things to do and see, there are numerous cafes, restaurants and more recently a Gin Bar, you will find fresh fish at Kittys where recently one of the daily catch boats netted a blue lobster, a 1 in a two million chance. Polperro has some fine dining restaurants and the famous Blue Peter Inn pub where one of the best fish pies can be found.
Land of the Giants
Alongside the model village is the Land Of Legends – where Cornish folklore is derived from tales of pirates and smugglers who thrived in and around Cornwall from the early modern period through to the 19th century.
